Graduate Spotlight: Brian Kokkila

With many of our students taking courses and degree programs online, professors, faculty and staff miss the opportunity to meet students and graduates of Waldorf College. Recently a Waldorf graduate, Brian Kokkila, and his family decided to vacation in Orange Beach. Kokkila and his family traveled from Pennsylvania to Orange Beach and wanted to pick up his cap and gown and meet Academic Advisor, Debra Waldrop.

Kokkila graduated with a 4.0 from Waldorf College in May of 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in fire administration along with two certificates in OSH and Emergency Management. He has worked for the Peters Township Fire Department for the past 17 years. Kokkila also is a firefighter/paramedic and serves as deputy chief of the Pennsylvania Urban Search and Rescue. It’s great knowing that students enjoy their time at Waldorf College. “I enjoyed attending Waldorf because of the interaction and support of the wonderful staff. Everybody has been very encouraging,” said Kokkila.

In July of 2016, Kokkila will attend the Executive Fire Officer Program.
