May 2017 President’s Message

Happy Spring Everyone!

I hope you are having as great a start to your season as I have had.

Last week, I attended the first ever graduation ceremony for Waldorf University. There have, of course, been 113 Waldorf College graduation ceremonies before this but this was the first ceremony of Waldorf University.

This momentous day was so special not because of our institution’s new name, but mainly because we had the largest graduating class in history.  The class included 748 residential and online students in associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

It was inspiring to see so many online students who traveled from all over the country to join us in Forest City for the ceremony.

It is easy to get discouraged during your college courses. I think there are few people, if any, who can say they had an easy go of their courses and never felt discouraged or stressed. But I want to tell you—it is all worth it! The excited faces of all 748 graduates last week reminded me of how important and life changing a high quality education can be. The day you receive your diploma, will be one of the best days of your life. Keep pushing and don’t give up!
