Students, Alumni and Friends,
“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” – a great quote from President John F. Kennedy that many of us know. On this President’s Day, I am reminded of this quote – one of my favorites! – and of how much it resonates with our mission here at Waldorf College: to learn, live and serve.
Service is a huge part of our culture at Waldorf, and we hope to instill its value in all of our students. It is our highest hope that you all will go on to do what you can to make your work place, community and world a better place after graduation. And we know you will!
Speaking of service, our staff and faculty created charity, Stop Hunger, is hosting their annual food-packaging event on March 4, where we are hoping to pack 72,000 meals for hungry children all over the world! This year we are also emphasizing the importance of serving locally, too. 18,000 of our packaged meals will be sent to local food banks, churches and other places of need!
If you feel the drive to join this great cause we would love to hear about how you get involved in your community or in charities and service projects you are passionate about! You are also welcome to check out the blog where there is more information on the upcoming Stop Hunger event!
