A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I love this time of year since it represents what we are thankful for and being close to family and friends. As I get older, I now appreciate the “now” moments. What I mean by this is to appreciate each day we enter and to live in the now. Being so busy with being a mom and also working full time and not to mention a college student, I tend not to enjoy those “now” moments.
Thanksgiving gives me the opportunity to get my focus back on what matters the most. Being close to family and friends gets me in that mode of just being thankful for the now moments.
My daughter went off to college this year for the first time and what a time of reflection that brought on! I had no idea as a mom this would take me to my knees. Now don’t get me wrong, I loved that she was following her dreams but this flood of memories came at me all at once the moment she drove off. I then began realize to just live day by day and be so thankful for each moment you get because before you know it, they are gone.
Tips for living in the moment
