Waldorf University FAQs

Q: When will the name change go into effect?
Waldorf College will officially become Waldorf University on March 17th, 2016.

Q: Why did the college decide on this name change?
Waldorf has always been an institution which evolves to fit the needs of our students. With the diversity of academic programs, including graduate degrees,  Waldorf now offers, university status better reflects who we are as an institution and the direction in which we are headed.

Q: If I am a Waldorf student, will my diploma say Waldorf College or Waldorf University?
The class of graduating seniors who attend commencement on May 7th, 2016 will be the last graduating class of Waldorf College. All students (residential and online) who graduate after this date will be Waldorf University graduates.

Q: Can I get a new copy of transcripts?
You may receive a new copy of your transcript by either:

  • Filling out the Transcript Request Form
  • Contacting the registrar’s office via telephone 641-585-8696,
  • Or emailing Registrar@waldorf.edu.

Q: If I am an alumni and my diploma has Waldorf College on it, could I pay for a new diploma that has Waldorf University on it?
Yes. Please contact the registrar at Registrar@waldorf.edu for more information.

Q: If I received a scholarship from Waldorf College before the name change, for the Fall 2016 semester, will my scholarship offer still be honored?
Yes. If you have any questions please contact us at Scholarships@Waldorf.edu.

Q: When and where can I buy new Waldorf University apparel?
You will be able to purchase Waldorf University apparel online (www.Waldorf.edu/Bookstore) or on campus at the bookstore after March 17th, 2016.

Q: Will the school colors be changing?
No. Waldorf colors will continue to be purple and gold. The exact colors seen in the school logo and in school advertising may be a bit different but the standard purple and gold still apply.

Q: Will the Waldorf mascot be changing?
No. Waldorf will continue to be represented by the Waldorf Warrior

Q: Will the Waldorf Alma Mater be changing?
No. At this time, no changes to the Alma Mater will be made.

  3. Since Waldorf will soon hold a university status, will the school offer some sort of Ph.D, programs to help its graduate students pursue further studies?

      At this time we are only offering certificates, associates, bachelors, and masters degrees.

  4. Since Waldorf offers degrees for students both on campus and online, why doesn’t the college offer to have 2 commencements ceremonies?

    • Latasha, in the past, it was easiest to combine the two commencement ceremonies into one. But, in the future, we may separate them if there are enough online students who would like to attend graduation. Thank you for letting us know your thoughts!
