Waldorf Warriors honored veterans last month when Waldorf College dedicated their first home game in honor of military veterans at the inaugural Warriors for Warriors. All profits collected at the gate were donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. All told, more than $1,000 in donations were raised at the gate and through ticket sales.
“It’s a great way to kick off Labor Day weekend – showing support and gratitude to our local veterans,” Dyanna Quisling, committee chair and head cheerleading coach at Waldorf College, said. “They have done so much for our community and our country, it really is the least we could do.”
Those who have served in the military, past or present, received free admission to the game along with their guests, and were recognized prior to kickoff.
The Waldorf Warriors won their first home game against Trinity Bible College, 68-42.
